The work is realized in collaboration with the Carbonia Film Festival, directed by Francesco Giai Via, and the Centro Servizi Culturali (CSC) Carbonia – Società Umanitaria (Regional Law 28 December 2018 no. 48, art. 11, paragraph 26), drawing on materials from the project “La tua memoria è la nostra storia” by the Cineteca Sarda – Società Umanitaria and from the magnetic tape archive of CSC Carbonia of the Società Umanitaria.

The work takes shape as a kaleidoscopic journey into the memory of the people of one of the symbolic places in the history of twentieth-century Italy, preserved in the Carbonia home-movie archive. Not a simple act of recollection, but a mental composition of visual and sonic fragments, shards of blurred memories that are nonetheless dense with emotional intensity.

The individual subjects derived from film scans and magnetic tape digitizations were isolated, slowed down, enlarged, and recomposed into a new dreamlike, hypnotic, and surreal scenario.

The installation is presented in collaboration with the institutions that hold the archival materials manipulated by the artist.
