Museo del Novecento Milano

The work consists of a stereo headset and an audio emission device that accompany the visitor round the collection. After picking 24 masterpieces from the collection, the artist asked a sample group of 17 people, none of them involved in any way with the art world, to stand in front of the works and speak about the impressions they convey. The tour of the collection is thus recounted through the voices of an eight-year-old child, a writer, a musician, a psychiatrist, an actress, a nurse and so on. The title of the work is a citation from the semiologist Roland Barthes and is an explicit proposal to interpret the collection in a new and unusual way.
