Si tratta di un viaggio onirico tra le leggi suntuarie e la moda fiorentina del ‘300, la prima ad essere documentata, per voce di un anziano signore che legge alla propria nipotina gli scritti di un avo ritrovati nella suggestiva biblioteca dell’Accademia di Belle Arti. Attraverso le vicissitudini personali di un vecchio notaio dell’epoca lo spettatore è immerso nello sfarzo dei tessuti e dei disegni che testimoniano la nascita della moda in Italia. Le animazioni presenti su due dei tre schermi sono state realizzate attraverso collage animati di dipinti e disegni medievali reinterpretati dalla mente della bambina.

It is a dreamlike journey between the sumptuous laws and the Florentine fashion of the 14th century, the first to be documented by the voice of an old gentleman who reads to his granddaughter his ancestor’s writings found in the evocative library of the Academy of Fine Arts. Through the personal vicissitudes of an old notary of the time, the viewer is immersed in the magnificence of fabrics and designs that bear witness to the birth of fashion in Italy. The animations on two of the three screens were created through animated collages of medieval paintings and drawings reinterpreted by the girl’s mind.
